What does Brian Niemeier always say? "Don't give money to people who hate you." You're (both!) absolutely right. It's not enough to just criticize what Disney is doing. We're tired of hearing the whining about "muh Star Wars." Put your money where your mouth is! Stop giving your hard-earned money and time to these majore corporations who wouldn't give a darn if you just kicked over and died. Stop shilling for them. Instead, take a look at the indie creators out there who are putting out quality work. Many of them in this book sale! Give them your attention and money. Help make a difference in the culture. Most of us have already lived a good chunk of our lives. Our kids are gonna be the ones who have to put up with even more of the mainstream industry crap if we keep funding the zombie entertainment industry.
I stopped caring about mainstream entertainment in 2013, which was also the same year when I stopped watching television altogether. I didn't waste my time complaining about the wretched state of movies and TV shows. I instead ventured off to greener pastures. I'm a metalhead, so I know for a fact that all the best metal is either old or obscure. Same with other forms of media. I wish more people would put in the effort to find good material and share it with their friends. This book sale helps with that.
