I have very little interest in reading books in series. Not to mention that the kind of books that get dragged on into multiple doorstoppers have nothing much to say. I read the Wheel of Time in my early 20s, by book 6 everything interesting happened.
I am avoiding series mainly because I don't have tons of time to read these days. However, I am glad I read Dan Simmons' Hyperion Cantos, and I would like to re-read The Wheel of Time, Dune, and a few other series eventually.
