There are no adults in the room of any of these industries so no one ever has to become one. It's no wonder they've all decayed so far.

Also ironic that the generation of artists who got into comics to make them for adults are far more childish than the people who ran the industry when it was aimed at kids.

Kudos for the Rush reference in your article's title 👏

Saw the title of your post and was hoping that you would tip your hat to the creative power trio behind so much of the music I love. Thank you.

This post is right on target. I do not share this man’s politics but agree no life or soul is worth this. Hard for some to disengage and seek help, but wish he would have.

"Big music is the chill down your spine and the sudden eruption of gooseflesh. It’s a feeling one usually encounters when young, describing that moment when you hear a song for the first time and it’s so overwhelming you feel like a changed person after it ends."

I even get a chill down my spine and gooseflesh when I manifest my favourite songs in my brain.

Never got into comics. The stories and characters were just boring, but I remember reading the "noise bubles" (when somebody was beating up someone else) to my comic book loving friends to annoy them. The industry also seems to suck a lot. No thanks.

If comic nerds were mostly gross fringesexuals then sales wouldn’t be in the toilet. Most readers if comics are normies. It’s just that the lunatics took over the asylum. Otherwise, this article is pretty much on point.

Quoted Rush lyrics are great. Somehow I could never enjoy their music much, as hard as I have tried.

'A medium that traditionally appeals to children just can’t help cramming in deviant sexuality into every nook and cranny of superhero stories'

I have been thinking about this kind of thing in connection with rock, 80s heavy metal especially.

How many of the musicians were nonces or ephebophiles? One can easily imagine that people with such...preferences would have been attracted to working in a genre that appealed mostly to teenage boys. I suspect many things have been covered up; I also suspect some of my favourite singers may well have been ephebophiles, practising or not. What do these suspicions mean for my appreciation of the music? I'm not sure.

Thank you for "The Pass" reference. Stopped me cold, made me like it instantly thanks to the title and who I know wrote it.

"Don't Turn Your Back and Slam The Door On Me."
